Saskia Wickenden | MChiro (First Class Hons) DC

Clinic Owner, Chiropractor & Sports Massage Therapist

I graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in 2020. During my time at university, I also qualified as a Level 3 Sports Massage therapist. I set up Gatehouse Health in April 2024, and continue to work part-time at Southcote Proactive Healthcare in Maidstone.

My goal is to provide a high standard of individualised, patient-centred care to help you function to the best of your abilities. It’s all about finding what works for each person, whether that’s spinal manipulation, mobilisation, massage, dry needling, more emphasis on an exercise program or lifestyle advice.

Pain and dysfunction don’t tend to spark out of nowhere. Although you may feel sore in one particular area, this can be the compensation of an underlying imbalance in a muscle or joint elsewhere in the body. Because of this, I like to assess the whole body in order to determine the exact root of the problem and treat accordingly, with the aim of preventing the issue from recurring.

I enjoys treating people from all walks of life, from children aged 6 to the elderly, and from manual labourers to athletes.

I previously competed in Modern Pentathlon and 10m Air Pistol Shooting, and hence I have an interest in Sports Chiropractic and the biomechanical requirements of the body to function in different sports.

Having ridden and competed horses all my life, I have a particular interest in treating equestrians and addressing the connection between horse and rider by considering the influence of our own body and biomechanics on our horse’s behaviour and way of going.
